THE WALL SPEAKS
29 August 2026 | Houston, Texas

Deonte Scott is a Houston-based poet, creative producer, and founder of The Wall Speaks, an immersive poetry and visual art installation that transforms personal narrative into a shared physical experience. His work exists at the intersection of poetry, visual storytelling, and emotional architecture—creating environments where vulnerability is not only expressed, but witnessed collectively.

Through large-scale visual interpretations of his original poems, integrated audio recordings, and interactive response walls, Deonte invites audiences to confront themes of identity, mental health, fatherhood, faith, resilience, and the invisible burdens people carry. His installations are designed not simply to be viewed, but to be entered—encouraging visitors to slow down, reflect, and leave pieces of their own story behind.

Deonte is the author of The Beauty in the Burden, a poetry collection rooted in the belief that struggle can serve as a catalyst for clarity, growth, and healing. His creative practice extends beyond the written word into experiential production, where poetry becomes something audiences can move through, listen to, and physically engage with.

Supported by the Houston Arts Alliance, The Wall Speaks represents his commitment to expanding poetry beyond traditional performance spaces and into immersive environments that foster connection and dialogue. His work centers on one core belief: when people are given permission to be honest about their burdens, healing becomes possible—not in isolation, but in community.

He lives and creates in Houston, Texas.
