The Wall Speaks funded in part by the City Of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance is not just a show it’s an immersive experience where poetry, visual art, and music collide to tell stories that are meant to be felt, not just heard.
From the moment you enter, you are invited into a gallery-style environment featuring curated installations inspired by original poetry. Each piece is paired with a scannable QR code, giving you direct access to audio performances that bring the artwork to life. This is a self-guided, interactive experience allowing you to move at your own pace, engage deeply, and connect with each story in a personal way.
The installations explore themes of healing, identity, resilience, and transformation creating a space that is both reflective and powerful. This portion of the evening is designed to slow you down, pull you in, and prepare you for what comes next.
As the night transitions, the experience shifts from gallery to stage.
The live performance begins with Deonte Scott, a national spoken word artist, author of The Beauty in the Burden, and featured performer on Lexus Verses & Flow. With over 20 years of performance experience and stages across the country including appearances at Facebook and Google Deonte delivers a raw and commanding performance that brings the heart of The Wall Speaks to life.
Closing the evening is Grammy-nominated soul singer Anthony David, whose timeless sound and powerful vocals provide the perfect musical finale leaving the audience with a lasting emotional imprint.
Deonte Scott is a Houston-based poet, creative producer, and founder of The Wall Speaks, an immersive poetry and visual art installation that transforms personal narrative into a shared physical experience.
